Persist field order or allow custom order for fields when exporting forms responses in xls files

As a user, I want when exporting Form Responses, the order of the Form fields to be persisted in the exported xls file. Currently the fields are ordered by either ID or some other value and do not appear as they are on the form. Or alternatively give me the option to manually select how the fields will appear in the exported file.

This would assist marketing and would allow easier data transfer.

Hello - I also want this ability. Where I realize the export function is not a reporting tool, for end-users to be able to control the order of the columns in the Excel file (e.g. the order they appear on the form) is a feature most all of our site admins ask for.

Is there any traction on this? Our marketing team needs something like this too.

This needs to be fixed, I design a very detailed form on my client request, without knowing that excel sheet export will messed up my all hard work

    Any status updates on this?

This doesn't seem to be something that would take long to implement. You're already showing the correct order of the column in the responses page. Just apply it to the export script.

Just hit this for a client...

@Progress sometimes it's just frustrating to have a feature delivered, but then it's missing some basic things like this (this is BASIC, shouldn't have left the shop like this)... then it takes YEARS for someone to get back to it, if they ever do. It sours people on this very expensive product they were sold. Like everything needs some massive DEV intervention to fix or patch these shortcomings.

I am Steve's client. He is 100% correct, very frustrating. Something as simple as a form export to excel to get usable data should be a no brainer. Now I have to pay additional money to get something that works. If it weren't for Steve and his ability to pull rabbits out of the hat on a regular basis I would have abandoned Sitefinity long ago.

This is (almost) an awesome product but this kind of stuff makes me wonder.

    Hello Team,
Still there is no straight forward solution to get manually select how the fields will appear in the exported file.
Its too required as an e.g if a form has 3 fields and want to download their responses it downloads responses with those 3 fields but with other unnecessary fields which sometime not required. Please give some straight forward solution for this.

    Thanks!
